Xavier Gens, the director behind ‘Frontier(s)’ is back with a new genre thriller, ‘The Crucifixion’, penned by Chad and Carey Hayes the duo who wrote ‘The Conjuring’.
‘The Crucifixion’ is inspired by true events and centers on a priest who “is jailed for the murder of a nun on whom he was performing an exorcism, an investigative journalist strives to determine whether he in fact murdered a mentally ill person, or if he lost the battle with a demonic presence.”
Sophie Cookson, Corneliu Ulici, Brittany Ashworth, Matthew Zajac, Florian Voicu, and Radu Bânzaru star in this intense possession thriller.
The thriller premiered at last year’s Sreamfest in L.A., but has yet to see release here in the U.S. An international trailer has been released. We are still waiting to learn the exact release date, but IMDB does have it listed as coming in 2017. Bloody-Disgusting has also reported that the film will be out “sooner rather than later”.
Chad and Carey Hayes, and Peter Sfran produced. Bill Johnson of Lotus Entertainmen, D.J. Gugemheim, Jim Seibel, and Ara Keshishian serve as executive producers for ‘The Crucifixion’.
