In our last article about Steven Shainberg’s Rapture we shared a new clip. Now, we can report that the film has a release date set for this April. The script, penned by Brian Nelson (30 Days of Night), is based on the story that he created with Shainberg.
Noomi Repace (Prometheus) stars alongside Michael Chiklis (American Horror Story), Peter Stormare (Fargo), Kerry Bishe (Argo), Lesley Manville (Maleficent), and Ari Millen (Orphan Black).
Renee Morgan (Rapace), a single mom who lives with her twelve-year-old son, Evan, in a quiet suburban home, is terrified of spiders. Unbeknownst to both, their every move is being observed. While running her daily errands, her car breaks down; and she is violently kidnapped by a group of strangers. 24 hours later, in an anonymous laboratory, she is tied up and questioned about her medical history, including her great fear of spiders. Soon her captors explain to her that her genetic abnormality can potentially allow her to “Rupture,” revealing her own true nature.
Rapture begins an exclusive run on DirecTV on March 30th followed by the arrival of Rapture in theaters, on VOD, and on Digital HD on April 28th.
