Nicholas McCarthy, director of The Pact and At the Devil’s Door, has signed to helm the horror-thriller Descendant, written by Jacob’s Ladder scribe Jeff Buhler, THR reports.
The film centers on Sarah and John Turner, parents of Miles, a young boy with genius level intelligence. As he grows older and changes in disturbing ways, people begin wondering if his genius and talents come naturally or if there is something sinister at work.
Tripp Vinson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose) will produce. XYZ will be executive producing Descendant which is currently in preproduction with filming beginning later this year.
