Bub Gets A New Look And New Name In The ‘Day Of The Dead’ Remake

Fans were crushed earlier this month when George A. Romero passed away. One of his most cherished classics is Day of the Day. Today, we have a first look at Jonathan Schaech who will be playing the role of the intelligent zombie in Héctor Vicens’ remake. Originally named Bub, the iconic character has a new name in the upcoming remake. He is now called Max. That’s a pretty big change for such a well known zombie. In an interview with Bloody Disgusting, Schaech described Max as “more as a Hulk thank Bub.” Max is more of a “Bub on steroids”. In the remake, Max is obsessed with the new character Zoe (Sophia Skelton). Schaech also compared the new version of Romero’s 1985 classic with ‘The Walking Dead’, which interesting considering the fact that Romeo made it clear on several occasions that he disliked the hit series. The ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’ Story Will Continue

There are few holiday films loved like Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. Fans would have loved to seen the story continue, but for some reason the film never got a sequel. But after nearly 25 years we will finally get more, in the form of a comic/Magna series, THR is reporting. Tokyopop will publish the series, titled ‘Nightmare Before Christmas: Zero’s Journey’, written by DJ Milky, featuring art by Studio DICE. As you can tell by the title, the books will center on Jack Skellington’s dog Zero as he gets lost far from home, in Christmas Town. The site reports “The format of the project will be unusual for the publisher; it will initially be serialized as full-color single issues released to comic book stores, before being collected in two different formats simultaneously, in full-color trade paperbacks and black and white pocket-sized manga volumes,”

Ice-T Heading To ‘Clinton Road’ Along With Vincent Pastore And Ace Young

Law & Order: SVU actor and musician Ice-T and Vincent Pastore (The Sapranos) have signed on to co-star along with American Idol contestant and actor, Ace Young (Planet 360), in the indie genre film Clinton Road from director Steve Stanulis, Variety reports. Written by Derek Ross Mackay, Clinton Road is set to begin this August in New York City and is based on the real-life events that have occurred on Clinton Road, a notorious 10-mile stretch of road in the New Jersey pine barrens, a source of urban legends, paranormal activity, and was also an infamous location where the mob disposed of bodies. In the film, a group of teenagers set out to investigate the area, but end up stranded and fighting to survive a sadistic satanic cult. Movie Review: ‘Circus Kane’ Is Equal Parts Greasepaint And Gore

Circuses and carnivals, as well as the folks associated with them, are some of the oldest vessels of fear known to the modern population. Why? What’s so scary about circuses? For some it’s the atmosphere, with its hot, unnatural lights and brightly painted colors. It’s like living in a perpetual acid trip. For others, it’s the constant illusion–nothing is as it seems. For most folks that fear circuses, though, the fear stems from something far more specific. Clowns. Who You Gonna Call? The Ghostbusters In 2019!

Fans had mixed emotions when it came to 2016’s female driven Ghostbusters. Many thought that franchise would end, but they were wrong. Ivan Reitman, the director of the original film and its sequel, made an appearance at a panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. He revealed that he is very optimistic that a new sequel will possibly arrive around the original’s 35th anniversary in 2019. Well, the studio is working on some really nice things. First of all, I can’t believe the movie is still playing and being watched so assiduously… and I can’t believe I’m so old. Yeah, I think there’s going to be a lot of fun, a lot of special things. First Images And Cast Unveiled For Creature Feature ‘Big Legend’

The first images and the cast for Justin Lee’s creature feature, Big Legend, has just been unveiled. Kevin Makely, Todd A. Robinson, Summer Spiro, and scream queen Amanda Wyss (A Nightmare on Elm Street) star in this film about a man on a mission to find answers about the disappearance of his fiancee (Spiro). AMC Announces Seven New Horror Series !

There is no sign of the new horror series trend slowing. In fact, new genre shows are being announced monthly. One of the biggest series on television is AMC’s The Walking Dead. AMC is so happy with their new influx of viewers that they have just announced not one, but eight new genre shows on its slate, each “script-to-series”, Variety reports. The Untitled Rainn Wilson Project Thisone-hour series, from Wilson and Odenkirk Provissiero, follows an alien entity that takes over a poly-addicted middle-aged man from the San Fernando Valley. Shock Theater Shock Theater is an anthology series where each episode tells a new sci-fi horror film. This seris is from Greg Nicotero and will be executive produced by Matt Lambert, Joe Earley and Gail Berman. Underbelly From Dan Connolly and Fish Ladder Productions comes this series which will delve into the dark side of popular culture by using the horror genre as a way to explore storylines in an anthology
