Only a few days ago we reported that writer Mick Garris said that there may finally be a sequel to Hocus Pocus. Today, we can tell you that a new movie is definitely happening!
Deadline is reporting that Disney is reviving the Sanderson Sisters for a new film, only this time it will be a TV remake of Hocus Pocus.
According to the site, the Disney Channel is in the early stages of remaking one of Halloween’s most beloved films. That’s not all, there will be an all-new cast. On a positive note, the original films’ producer, David Kirschner, is serving as an executive producer for the new version written by Scarlett Lacey (The Royals).
If you feel a little disappointed, you’re not alone. The Hocus Pocus remake just won’t have the same magic without the original Sanderson Sisters, Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy. The original film cast a spell that has lasted nearly 25 years on fans. I don’t know if a new version will have the same charm.
