Stephen King adaptions are everywhere these days (not that we’re complaining). Between IT, Gerald’s Game, ‘Mr. Mercedes’, ‘The Mist’ which has been canceled after one season, and others upcoming projects, King is dominating the genre. We can now add another adaption to the list.
Variety is reporting that Josh Boone (New Mutants, The Fault in the Stars) has signed on to pen the script for the film adaption of King’s ‘The Talisman’ produced by Frank Marshall (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Jason Bourne).
Written by King and Peter Straub in 1984, ‘The Talisman’ follows the young Jack Sawyer, whose mother is dying. Jack learns that if obtains the talisman he can cure her disease. He must embark on a journey through a parallel world. King penned a sequel to the tale titled ‘Black House’ featuring Jack as a grown man working as a homicide detective, so there is a potential sequel there if the first film is well received.
