And the remakes just keep coming. Like it or not, there is currently a remake in the works of the classic genre film An American Werewolf in London from Max Landis (Victor Frankenstein).
Max’s father, John Landis, the man behind the 1981 film, has even advised his son not to make the film, but Max is pressing forward.
During a conversation with Fandom Max stated that his version will be a straight-forward remake but with a modern twist.

There’s no guarantee that the movie will exist but I’m very excited about it. I’m not here to remake American Werewolf in London into something it isn’t, I want to do everything from the original movie modern, and that’s it.

He continued on to tease cameos from the original cast.

Griffin Dunne..what about Jenny Agutter? Coem on, Jenny’s killing it right now. She was In Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It made me so excited! Yeah, there’s cameos from ideally literally everyone.

It doesn’t sound like a remake to me, more of a reboot. To be honest, I don’t think the movie needs a remake/reboot. The original is still an amazing film and trying to make a new version just seems like a bad idea.
