Director Eli Roth, the man behind films such as Cabin Fever and The Green Inferno, has signed on for Universal Pictures’ The House With a Clock in Its Walls, based on the children’s classic written by John Bellairs.
The story centers on Lewis (Owen Vaccaro), a 10-year-old boy, who has gone to live with his uncle in a creaky old house with a mysterious tick-tocking heart. Soon his new world jumps to life with a secret world of Warlocks and witches. Things become complicated when Lewis accidentally awakens the dead.
Vaccaro co-stars alongside stars Jack Black, Cate Blanchett, and Kyle MacLachlan, Colleen Camp, René Elise Goldsberry, Vanessa Anne Williams, and Sunny Suljic. The screenplay was penned by Eric Kripke.
Mythology Entertainment’s Brad Fischer will produce with James Vanderbilt and Kripke.
