Back in 2005 director and horror rocker Rob Zombie followed up his 2003 horror spectacle, House of 1000 Corpses, with a brutal and murderous 70’s style road film called The Devil’s Rejects . It’s a  film that many have lauded as his best film-making effort thus far. Despite visual and stylistic differences between the films, Zombie created a core trio of characters (Captain Spaulding, Otis and Baby) that have become somewhat legendary within the horror genre.
Well my Little Monsters, according to an “exclusive” report from Bloody Disgusting,  Zombie is apparently looking to unleash the “Rejects” on genre fans again. Now I know what many of you are thinking, “didn’t they all die in a hail of police gunfire while Lynyrd Skynyrd’s song Free Bird played in the background?”…well, yes it’s pretty safe to assume they did. However, I’m sure in death they didn’t likely find themselves knocking at the pearly gates. And since they are called the “Devil’s Rejects”, perhaps the Devil himself wouldn’t grant them access into hell either. Therefore, they may have more more murder and mayhem left to inflict on the residents of this earthly plane before they find a place fore their final rest.
Zombie has been playing with the notion of bringing these beloved characters back for some time now, but aside from the “exclusive” announcement of the impending return of the “Rejects”, Zombie himself has yet to come forward to confirm or deny that progress is being made towards that end. Should this bit of news turn out be true, we here at HorrorFuel will keep you all in step with updates as they become available. So let’s keep our fingers crossed that this news turns out to be a real Halloween treat and not a nasty trick.
