In the past 3 films of the Purge franchise, we have witnessed both everyday citizens and the elite fighting for survival during the 12 hour period where everything is legal.
The Purge 4: The Island will be different. This time we are getting a prequel that goes back and focuses on the events that led up to the inaugural Purge event.

Gerard McMurray will be directing from the script penned by James DeMonaco, who was behind the previous films of the franchise.
Luna Lauren Valez, Melonie Diaz, Y’Ian Noel, Lex Scott Davis, David Breda, Chyna Layne, Joivan Wade, Maria Rivera, and Christian Robinson co-star.
The Purge 4 is set to open in theaters on Wednesday, July 4, 2018, from Universal Pictures and has now entered production.
