It’s been 30 years since the earth was invaded by Critters, with the last film of the franchise hatching in 1992. There have been a lot of fans over the years begging for a new sequel. While that’s still up in the air, we do have great news for the fans of the nasty creatures. Critters will be back, in the form of a new series.
Variety is reporting that Verizon’s go90 has ordered ‘Critters: The New Binge’ from Blue Ribbon Content, which belongs to Warner Bros. Jordan Rubin, Jon Kaplan, and Al Kaplin, the team who brought you Zombeavers, is behind the series. Rubin will direct and Kaplin will pen the series and executive produce. Robert Harvey and Barry Opper from the original film will produce.
In the series, “the critters return to Earth in search of one of their kin, who was left behind years ago during an earlier mission. They land in Burbank, Calif., where they wreak havoc on a group of high schoolers and their families.”
