Earlier this week we told you that Tina Romero, George A. Romero’s daughter, and Tom Savini will be directing episodes of a new web series. Now we can report that Tina Romero has another project in the works, one that her father would be proud of, a zombie movie.
During a conversation with The Saunder Blog, Tina gave details about her upcoming film Queens of the Dead.
Queens of the Dead is a fusion of two huge parts of my world: zombies and Gay nightlife,” she told the site. “It’s a tribute to my father as well as my entrée into the genre he grandfathered. I can’t say too much yet, but what I can tell you is that this film will have all the hallmarks of a George A. Romero classic: farce, politics, heroes, assholes, and most importantly, herds of silly and slow moving walkers that you can’t help but love. But I’m doing it Tina-style, and bringing the glitter, choreography, queers & queens.”
Tina, who is also a DJ and dancer, is not the only member of the family still in love with the zombie genre. Tina’s brother George Cameron Romero is also working on zombie film of his own titled Rise of the Living Dead.
