Back in June, we reported that there were rumors that J.J. Abrams’ WWII set Overlord was rumored to be the fourth film in the Cloverfield universe. Today, we can confirm that it is true (via Slash Films).
Overlord, set on the eve of D-Day, follows a group of American paratroopers who are dropped behind enemy lines to carry out a mission crucial to the invasion’s success, but as they approach their target, they begin to realize there is more going on in this Nazi-occupied village than a simple military operation. They find themselves fighting against supernatural forces, part of a Nazi experiment.

This news comes on the heels of rumors the Netflix is working to acquire the third Cloverfield film God Particle, which is said to be renamed Cloverfield Station. It is being reported that we will see the trailer premiere during the Super Bowl this Sunday.
In the God Particle, a team of astronauts make a shocking discovery and end up fighting for survival in what is being described as an “altered reality”.
Overlord is set to be released on October 26, 2018.
