The CW has now announced that Shades of Blue’s Sarah Jeffery has been cast in one of the lead roles in their upcoming series reboot of Charmed, Deadline is reporting.
Jeffery will play the role of the youngest sister, Madison, a college freshman who is joining a sorority. But witchcraft isn’t helping the situation. She will star alongside Melonie Diaz (The Belko Experiment( who has been cast as another sister, and Ser’Darius Blain who will appear as the boyfriend of one of the sisters.
The present-day set series is a remake of the hit series of the same name that ran for eight seasons and featured 178 episodes. In the original, the Halliwell sisters who discover that they come from a long line of witches.
Written by Jessica O’Toole and Amy Rardin, the revamped series centers on three sisters who discover they are witches. “Between vanquishing demons, tearing down the patriarchy, and maintaining familial bonds, a witch’s work is never done.”
Ben Silverman and Ben Silberling will direct. Urman, O’Toole, and Rardin will be serving as executive producers.
