In the film, inspired by true events, a teenage girl (Sweeney) moves in with her aunt (Barth) in her late mom’s hometown. As she struggles to adapt to her new life, she feels her mom’s presence and tries to reach out to her mother from beyond the grave. Instead, she unwittingly invites a demon into her life and becomes possessed. Her loved ones reach out to a local reverend (Davison) to perform an exorcism in an attempt to save her soul.
