“The Vampire Diaries” may be over but we haven’t seen the last of Ian Somerhalder. The actor, who played the role of Damon Salvatore in the supernatural series, has sunk his fangs into another vampire role. THR is reporting that Somerhalder has signed on to star in Netflix upcoming series “V-Wars”.

The 10 episode series based on the book of the same name from New York Times best-selling author Jonathan Maberry, centers on Dr. Luther Swann (Somerhalder), who enters a world of horror when a mysterious disease transforms his best friend, Michael, into a murderous predator. As the disease spreads society divides with people and the infected on separate sides. Dr. Swann races against time to discover the truth behind what is happening.
‘High Park Entertainment produces alongside IDW Entertainment. William Laurin and Glenn Davis, creators of 1-800-Missing, will serve as co-showrunners.
