A new batch of images (via EW) gives us a look into Hulu’s upcoming Stephen King series “Castle Rock”, which will take viewers inside King’s multiverse.
“Castle Rock is this town that [King] made famous in all these different books; and these two writers, Dustin Thomason and Sam Shaw, came up with this incredibly cool, terrifying, weird, funny idea of a series, new story, that takes place in this town,” producer J.J. Abrams recently told Jimmy Fallon. “And all of these characters from Stephen King’s books sort of are peripherally involved. We pitched it to Stephen King. He went nuts for it.”
The series stars Bill Skarsgard as a prisoner at Shawshank State Prison, Scott Glenn as Alan Pangborn who appeared in both Needful Things and The Dark Half, and Sissy Spacek (Carrie) as Ruth Deaver, the adoptive mother of the series’ lead character Henry (Andre Holland).
“Castle Rock”, from Bad Robot Productions and Warner Bros. Television, is named after the town created by Stephen King and featured in many of his stories. The town made its first appearance in King’s 1979 novel The Dead Zone and was the location of his books and adaptations Cujo, Needful Things, The Dark Half, Needful Things. The town was mentioned in Creepshow, IT, The Stand, Sleepwalkers, and Gerald’s Game.
Terry O’Quinn, Melanie Lynskey, Melanie Lynskey, Scott Glenn, Jane Levy, and Terry O’Quinn co-star in this highly-anticipated series premiering on Hulu on Wednesday, July 25, 2018.
