It’s been almost a year since we reported that Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, had teamed up to create a new production company, Stolen Picture.
Their first film under their new banner is the horror-comedy Slaughterhouse Rulez. It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about the movie until now, during a recent interview with Digital Trends, Pegg revealed that a subterranean monster is at the center of the story, directed by Crispian Mills.
It’s going to be really fun. It’s a sort of a horror comedy,” Pegg told the site. “It felt like the right thing for Nick and I to have as our first collaboration with Stolen Picture. It’s about a private school in the U.K. which sells off parts of its land to a fracking company, and the fracking company then unleashes a subterranean monster that terrorizes the school. It’s a big metaphor for the U.K. privatizing things, and it’s mixed up with some ridiculous, sloppy horror. So it’s right up our street.”
“The film is set in an illustrious British boarding school that becomes a bloody battleground when a mysterious sinkhole appears at a nearby fracking site unleashing unspeakable horror. Soon a new pecking order will be established as pupils, teachers and the school matron become locked in a bloody battle for survival.”
