Shudder is teaming up with “The Walking Dead’s” Greg Nicotero to breathe new life into the classic Creepshow, not as a movie, but as a new anthology series.
The special effects makeup master will not only executive produce the series but also supervise the series’ effects that will be handled by his company KBN EFX. He will direct the premiere episode, according to EW.
Creepshow is a project very close to my heart!” Nicotero said. “It is one of those titles that embraces the true spirit of horror… thrills and chills celebrated in one of its truest art forms, the comic book come to life! I’m honored to continue the tradition in the ‘spirit’ which it was created.”
Set to premiere on Shudder in 2019, each episode of the series will be directed by a different filmmaker.
The original 1982 film, directed by George A. Romero, featured tales by horror master of horror Stephen King who also appeared in the movie along with Leslie Nielson, Adrienne Barbeau, Ed Harris, and Ted Danson.
