Hello there my Little Monsters, sorry about all the “F” sounds in the title. Anyways, I come to you today with some casting news on the Terminator front.
Earlier today Paramount Pictures released an official photo featuring Terminator franchise alum Linda Hamilton, as well as franchise newcomers Mackenzie Davis (Bladerunner 2049) in the role of Grace and Natalia Reyes (2091) in the role of Dani Ramos.
As you can see from the above picture, Hamilton is geared up and ready to reprise her legendary role of Sarah Connor. Arnold Schwarzenegger is also set to to return, marking the first time he and Hamilton have appeared together in the franchise since 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
Also joining the cast, as the newest in a long line of Terminators, is Gabriel Luna, who many may recognize for his turn as Robbie Reyes aka Ghost Rider on the ABC series, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. At the helm of this yet to be titled Terminator sequel is Tim Miller, the man who helped finally bring “the merc with a mouth” to the screen in his feature directorial debut, Captain Deadpool..nah just Deadpool.
It’s said that this sequel will likely do what the new Halloween film will do and what Niell Blomkamp’s Alien film would have done (were it to be made), by basically ignoring the story-lines of subsequent sequels. The new sequel in the franchise is supposed to occur sometime following the events of T2.
This upcoming sequel is being produced by David Ellison’s Skydance Media and James Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment. And even though there is no definitive title for the movie just yet, there is nationwide release date for the film of November 29th of 2019.
Certainly there will be more news about this upcoming sequel. So all you Little Monsters keep a weather eye fixed right here, because when said news surfaces, “I’ll be back”. (See what I did there?)
