Back in July, we reported that the upcoming Child’s Play reboot will be very different from the original. While no release date has been announced at this point, casting has already begun. Collider is reporting that “Legion” actress Aubrey Plaza and two time Emmy nominee “Atlanta” actor Brian Tyree Henry have both entered negotiations to star. Sources are reporting that Plaza will play a mother and Henry a detective.
Lars Klevberg, who directed the yet to be released horror flick Polaroid is set to direct from the script penned by Tyler Burton Smith (Kung Fury 2).
IT producers David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith will produce under the banner of their KatzSmith Productions company. Aaron Schmidt will serve as executive producer.
The reboot is said to follow a group of kids and a technologically advanced doll that enters their world which is very different than the original where serial killer Charles Lee Ray cast a spell to possess a Good Guy doll.
