From writer-director Matthew Holness comes Possum, a dark supernatural tale that stars Prometheus actor Sean Harris, Alun Armstrong, Simon Bubb, Andy Blithe, Pamela Cook, and Charlie Eales.
In the film, “A disgraced children’s puppeteer must confront his sinister stepfather and a hideous puppet he keeps hidden in a brown leather bag in order to escape the dark horrors of his past.”
James Harris, Mark Lane, Wayne Marc Godfrey, and Robert Jones produced.
“a supernatural horror combining the dark psycho-drama of George Romero’s Martin with the uncanny terror of Dead of Night,” Holness enthusiastically described the movie to ScreenDaily when originally announced. “The film draws on the dark nightmares of silent expressionist horror, British classics such as The Innocents and Don’t Look Now, as well as the claustrophobic suburban gothic of Pete Walker’s Frightmare. Possum will terrify in the best tradition of classic horror cinema, evoking an atmosphere of supernatural dread and creeping horror.”
Possum arrives in VOD November 2, 2018, from Dark Sky Films.
