When a remake of a beloved horror film is made, reactions will range from optimism to outright bitterness. Personally, I have grown to save all criticisms until I have “sampled the wares”, so to speak. With that in mind, today we horror fans get the first little taste of Paramount’s new adaptation/remake of Stephen King‘s classic novel, Pet Sematary.
“Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer are at the helm of this new adaptation, which features Jason Clarke as Louis Creed, Amy Seimetz as Rachel Creed, John Lithgow as Jud Crandall, Jete Laurence as Ellie Creed and Hugo Lavoie as Gage Creed. Now, without further ado, take a gander at the trailer below.
Are you intrigued? I know I am. And while there will definitely be more trailers in store to keep whetting our appetites, we still have to wait patiently (or maybe not so patiently) for the film to be released on April 5th, 2019 (just 16 days shy of exactly 20 years after the original adaptation’s release date) to find out if “dead is better”.
