The bad news, Verizon’s Critters series has been given the ax, but there is good news (sort of). We are getting a Critters reboot which is set to begin filming in South Africa this January.
Syfy is behind the reboot that is being produced by Adam Friedlander. But that’s all we know. So far, Syfy is keeping details hush, hush.
The original 1986 film, directed by Stephen Herek, starred Dee Wallace, M. Emmet Walsh, Billy Green Bush, and Scott Grimes. In the movie, a group of small, furry aliens makes lunch out of the locals in a small town. Critters went on to spawn three sequels, with the last being released in 1992.
