After years of hoping the Zombieland sequel is finally set to begin filming this month in Atlanta, with some scenes filmed in Tennessee. A lot of fans are having trouble believing the sequel is actually coming, but we can confirm that it truly is.
Woody Harelson, Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg, and Abigail Breslin will all be returning along with director Ruben Fleischer. We also know that several new characters have also been added, Reno, TB, Cleveland, Madison. Avan Jogia will play the role of Berkley. Zoe Deutch will star as one of the new characters, though we are not sure which one. Word is Ghostbusters alum Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd have both also joined the cast. That raises the question of how Murray will be involved since his character was killed off in the first film.

This time around, the group will face a new threat, a new breed of zombie has been born. The new super-zombies are faster, bigger, and stronger than the previous breed. The zombies are forming groups and going from city to city leaving a path of destruction in their wake.

Zombieland 2 is set to open in theaters nationwide on October 11, 2019, from Sony. Here’s a look at the first film’s trailer:
