“Who you gonna call” to direct the next Ghostbusters movie? Jason Reitman, that’s who. Sony Pictures has set in motion production on the next Ghostbusters movie and has put Reiman in the director’s chair, Variety reports. Reitman is a legacy, his father directed the first two movies, so the sequel is in good hands.
Before you start stressing out, the movie will be a direct sequel to 1989’s Ghostbusters II. It will completely bypass the 2016 trainwreck.
The Juno/Tully director co-wrote the script for Ghostbusters III with Gil Kenan (Monster House) and is aiming to start filming this summer which would put the movie in theaters in 2020.
