Next summer, Sony will unleash the dark Spider-Man spin-off Morbius starring Jared Letto as a killer antihero.

Daniel Espinosa (Life) is in the director’s chair for the movie about Michael Morbius, a scientist who, while trying to find a cure for a rare blood disease, accidentally transforms himself into a living vampire. Disgusted by his own bloodlust, he chooses to prey upon criminals he deems unworthy of life.
The film is based on the comic character created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane, which made its debut in Amazing Spider-Man #101.
“Doctor Who” actor Matt Smith and Adria Arjona (Pacific Rim: Uprising) are currently in talks to also star in Morbius which opens in theaters on July 31, 2020.
