Funcom gave me the opportunity to play the DLC for Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden titled “Seed of Evil” which follows the events of the main story where the world is now slowly being choked by vines and friends and enemies disappear and come back different, it’s up to our mutant heroes to save the day once again.

And a new hero emerges from the wasteland!

The DLC picks up right where the first game ends, so it’s advisable to complete the main play through before playing the DLC as the enemies you will be facing have higher difficulty levels unless you’ve leveled up.

The DLC is very much like the main story in terms of art, sound, playability, and overall fun. If you’re curious about what I thought about the main story, you can check out my review of it.

I’m thankful for the opportunity Funcom gave me to play this game but I got to be a little mean right now. The biggest problem with the DLC was the wait to play it properly. The DLC came out on July 31st and was unplayable as it was full of bugs that caused it to crash a lot. The game finally worked two days ago. The same problem occurred when the main game came out; it took weeks for it to become playable.

If the game was not fun it would get a very low rating from me because of the lack of quality control on the parts of the developers, which is unfair to players. To be fair I don’t know what goes on behind the scenes while making this game, if the programmers were rushed or if time ran out to debug the product before release which if this was what happened here, then for shame on the publishers.

For the game itself, it’s a 4.5/5 but for the production, it’s a 1/5
