When it comes to award-winning horror you don’t get much better than The Silence of the Lambs. CBS is now developing a series spin-off of The Silence of the Lambs titled “Clarice“, Deadline reports. The crime series is based on the iconic Thomas Harris character Clarice Starling, played in the film adaptation by Jody Foster.
Set in 1993, a year after the events of The Silence of the Lambs, the series dives deep into the untold personal story of Clarice Starling as she returns to the field to pursue serial killers and sexual predators in Washington, D.C. after her encounter with serial killer cannibal Dr. Hannibal Lecter.
Written and executive produced by Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet, the series’ pilot is set to be filmed soon with a series order hopefully following. Deadline does note that the writer’s room has already been established, so that’s a good sign.
