Ahead of next week’s theatrical debut, a new featurette titled “Witchcraft” has arrived for Gretel & Hansel, a new terrifying twist on a classic tale. The featurette takes behind the scenes where the cast reveals the magic of the tale and that no one is who they seem to be.
In the film, directed by Osgood “Oz” Perkins (Blackcoat’s Daughter), a young girl leads her little brother into the dark woods in desperate search of food and work, only to stumble upon a nexus of terrifying evil.
Sophia Lillis (IT), Alice Krige (Star Trek: First Contact), Jessica De Gouw (WGN’s “Underground,” The CW’s “Arrow”), Charles Babalola (Netflix’s “Black Mirror,” The Legend of Tarzan) star alongside newcomer Sammy Leakey as Hansel.
Gretel & Hansel was written by Rob Hayes (Netflix’s “Chewing Gum”) and produced by Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (Sinister, Upgrade) and Fred Berger (La La Land, Destroyer) on behalf of Automatik. Sandra Yee Ling and Macdara Kelleher executive produced.
Gretel & Hansel debuts in theaters on January 31, 2020, from Orion Pictures.
