Fiona Dourif, who starred in both Curse of Chucky and Cult of Chucky, has joined the cast of CBS All Access’ upcoming adaptation of “The Stand.”
Dourif revealed during a talk with Syfy that she will be playing the role of “Rat Woman,” a new take on the Stephen King character “Rat Man” who was played by Rick Aviles in the original miniseries.
I’m playing Rat Man…do you guys remember Rat Man? Rat Man is now Rat Woman,” Dourif told Syfy. “I read the books and watched the miniseries. I love The Stand.”
Dourif joins the cast that already includes Alexander Skarsgård, Heather Gram, Whoopi Goldberg, Jovan Adepo, Marilyn Manson, Owen Teague, Brad William Henke, Daniel Sunjata, James Marsden, Amber Heard, Nat Wolff, Eion Bailey, Odessa Young, Katherine McNamara, Henry Zaga, and Hamish Linklater.
The 10-episode series is co-written and directed by Josh Boone and features a new ending written by King himself.
The series will depict Stephen King‘s tale of a world decimated by plague and locked in a struggle between good and evil. The fate of mankind rests on the shoulders of the 108-year-old Mother Abagail (Goldberg) and a handful of survivors and their worst nightmare, Randall Flagg (Skarsgård), an evil man with unspeakable powers.
“The Stand” is expected to premiere later this year.
