Hulu has snagged the exclusive US streaming rights to the dark South Korean thriller Parasite that took home 4 Oscars this year, including Best Picture, Best International Film, Best Director, and Best Original Screen Play.
From filmmaker Bong Joon Ho, the film explores socioeconomic inequality in South Korea. It follows an impoverished, basement-dwelling family posing as professionals to gain employment with a wealthy family.
Variety reports that Parasite, from Neon, will arrive exclusively on Hulu on Wednesday, April 8th.
The film is also being adapted into an English-language limited series for HBO with director Bong Joon Ho teaming up with Adam McKay for the series, but there is no word yet if the series will be a continuance of the film or a reboot.
