Thanks to the pandemic, another highly anticipated horror film has been delayed. Lionsgate’s  Spiral: From the Book of Saw was originally set to be released this month, unfortunately, the new release date is now a year away, which is insane!

Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II, Saw III, Saw IV) has returned to the Saw franchise to direct Spiral: From the Book of Saw.

Chris Rock who co-wrote the film, executive produces and stars as a police detective on the hunt for a killer following a series of gruesome murders. Samuel L. Jackson and Max Minghella also star. The question is, will Tobin Bell make a cameo?

In Spiral, a sadistic mastermind unleashes a twisted form of justice in the terrifying new chapter from the book of Saw Working in the shadow of an esteemed police veteran (Samuel L. Jackson), brash Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks (Chris Rock) and his rookie partner (Max Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game.

Marl Burg and Oren Kohls return to produce Pete Goldfinger and Jigsaw’s Josh Stolberg penned the film which is executive produced by Rock, Daniel Heffner, and the original creators of the franchise, James Wan and Leigh Whannell.

Spiral: From the Book of Saw will now open in theaters on May 21, 2021.
