“Sleepy Hollow” and “True Blood” actress Janina Gavankar (The Way Back) co-wrote and is set to star in an upcoming untitled female-driven supernatural horror, Deadline reports.
The mysterious film is based on the ancient Hindu myth of the Rakshasa, a bloodthirsty demon that makes mankind its prey after it is banished from the realm of the gods and forced to live amongst humankind.
Gavankar co-wrote the script with Russo Schelling who she also worked with on the 2019 17 minutes long short horror film Stucco which has already been viewed 14 million times online (Watch Below).
The untitled film will be shot in India and is being executive produced by Abhi Rastogi, Matthew Francis Wilson, and Justin Deimen. 108 Media is both financing and producing the project.
