Season two of “NOS4A2”  is out today on Blu-ray and DVD and we’ve got a mostly spoiler-free review to share with you.

Based on the best-selling novel by Joe Hill, the second season finds Vic McQueen (Ashleigh Cummings) still struggling eight years after the events in the first season. Now with a son and a boyfriend (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), Vic still fears Charlie Manx (Zachary Quinto). When his body is discovered she has to go see for herself, but not everything is as it appears to be. When her son is kidnapped by Manx’s errand boy Bing (Ólafur Darri Ólafsson) she sets out to rescue him leading her to enter Christmas Land with the help of her friend Maggie (Jahkara Smith)

We finally learn the history of Charlie Manx and how he became the monster he is, as well as discover how Christmas Land came to life.

We see a ton of character development this season.  We see not only their battle with Manx but a fight with their own personal demons. Alcoholism, regret, fear, pain, abandonment, shitty childhoods, love, and hate are just a few of the subjects explored along with horror, death, betrail, kidnapping, and suicide.

The show looks absolutely fantastic with great special effects and incredible cinematography. The way Christmas Land was brought to life is extremely impressive.

The story itself is amazing, it’s complex, deep, well-timed, and will pull you in with the urge to binge-watch the hell out of it just to see what happens next. Bravo to the many writers and directors of “NOS4A2” for pulling off a terrifying tale so well!

I find it very disappointing that AMC has decided to end “NOS4A2”. There will be no season 3, as announced back in August by showrunner Showrunner Jami O’Brien. I am glad that fans do get at least some closure in season 2.

If you haven’t seen “NOS4A2” I urge you to do so. It’s a gripping series that you don’t want to miss! Season 2 arrives on Blu-ray and DVD today (October 20)!
