Marvel Studios is continuing to expand its Disney Plus library with “Moon Knight,” a new series based on the comic book character created by writer Doug Moench and artist Don Perlin.
Get this, the series will be directed by the well-known horror directing duo of Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead who brought us Synchronic, The Endless, and Spring, so don’t be surprised if the show has a horror tinge to it.
Mohamed Diab (“Clash”) will also direct with Jeremy Slater of “The Umbrella Academy” serving as showrunner.
Marvel has not officially announced the cast, but back in October 2020, Variety reported that Oscar Isaac was in talks to play the role of Marc Spector, whose dissociative identity disorder manifests as different distinct personas. One version of the character in the comic, Spector is also the embodiment of Khonshu, the Egyptian god of the moon.
“Moon Knight” is set to begin filming this March in Hungary with a Disney Plus release sometime in 2022.
