Brilliant filmmaker and actor Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows, Thor: Ragnarok) is executive producing the new apocalyptic sci-fi film Night Raiders which is heading to EFM in Berlin.
“Set in the year 2043 when a military occupation controls disenfranchised cities in North America and children are property of the state, the female-driven dystopian story follows a woman who joins an underground band of vigilantes to infiltrate a ‘children’s academy’ and get her daughter back.”
The film, a Canada-New Zealand co-production, is from writer-director Danis Goulet and stars Elle-Maija Tailfeathers (Blood Quantum,) along with Amanda Plummer (Pulp Fiction, “Ratched”), Brooklyn Letexier-Hart, Violet Nelson, Alex Tarrant, and Gail Maurice.
Waititi is executive producing along with Noah Segal, Adrian Love, Lisa Meeches, Tim White, and Kyle Irving. Paul Barkin, Tara Woodbury, Georgina Condor, Chelsea Winstanley, and Ainsley Gardiner are serving as producers for the film. XYZ Films has obtained the rights for world sales of the film that do not include Canada and Australia/NZ.
