Freeform is taking us back to high school in the 90s with the new thriller series “Cruel Summer” from Jessica Biel, executive producer of “The Sinner.”
The series “takes place over three summers in the ’90s when a beautiful and popular teen goes missing, and a seemingly unrelated girl transforms from a sweet and awkward outlier to the most popular girl in town, eventually becoming the most despised person in America.”
Each of the episodes is told from the point of view of the two main characters, Jeanette (Chiara Aurelia) and Kate (Olivia Holt). Michael Landes, Froy Gutierrez, Harley Quinn Smith, Blake Lee, Brooklyn Sudano, Allius Barnes, and Sarah Drew also star.
“Cruel Summer” premieres on Freeform on April 20, 2021, followed by its arrival on Hulu the next day. Check out the new teaser trailer below that hints at a mysterious disappearance.
