‘Labyrinth’ Returning To Theaters For 35th Anniversary



Jim Henson’s magical classic Labyrinth, from Sony Pictures, returns to movie theaters nationwide this fall as the 1986 fantasy adventure celebrates its 35th anniversary, and the legendary filmmaker’s 85th birthday, with three days of screenings from Fathom Events.

David Bowie stars as Jareth, the Goblin King, and Jennifer Connelly as Sarah, who must rescue her baby brother by finding her way through the massive maze in the fantasy world.

Preceding the 35th Anniversary screening Labyrinth, audiences will be treated to a featurette including behind-the-scenes footage, the Henson Family, and others reflecting on the creative process behind the iconic film.

Directed by Jim Henson, Labyrinth was executive produced by Star Wars creator George Lucas and presented by Henson Associates, Inc., and Lucasfilm Ltd. The film’s screenplay is by Terry Jones of “Monty Python” fame, from a story by Dennis Lee and Jim Henson. Brian Froud served as the conceptual designer of the groundbreaking fantasy, with a score by Trevor Jones and songs by David Bowie.

Tickets for Labyrinth 35th Anniversary go on sale on Friday, August 6, 2021, and can be purchased online at www.fathomevents.com or at participating theater box offices. A complete list of theater locations is available on the Fathom Events website (theaters and participants are subject to change). Labyrinth will play in select movie theaters Sunday, September 12th at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., Monday, September 13th at 7 p.m., and Wednesday, September 15th at 7 p.m. (all times local).
