New Details Surface About Season Two Of Netflix’s ‘The Witcher’

Season two of Netflix’s hit horror-fantasy series “The Witcher” is finally headed your way. Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, creator, and showrunner of the series has now revealed some of the details of season two in a Tweet (below). We’ve also got a new teaser and the premiere date.

In regards to the first episode, Hissrich has stated that it will introduce fans to the character of Nivellen (played by Kristofer Hivju) which tells the tale of  “a father and daughter coming together in a place that doesn’t quite feel safe for them. And we get into Nivellen and get to explore his character and his backstory with Geralt.”
 
 
Based on the novel series by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski, season 2 of the series finds monster-hunter Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill) returning to his childhood home with Ciri (Freya Allan). “Convinced Yennefer’s (Anya Chalotra) life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans, and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”
 
 

 
 
New cast members for season two include Adjoa Andoh (“Bridgerton”), Cassie Clare (“Brave New World”), Liz Carr (“Silent Witness”), Graham McTavish (“Outlander”), Kevin Doyle (“Downton Abbey”), Simon Callow (“Four Weddings and a Funeral”) and Chris Fulton (“Bridgerton”).
 
 
The Witcher” returns with season two on December 17, 2021, on Netflix.
