New ‘Texas Chainsaw’ Movie Will Premiere On Netflix

Leatherface is back! A new brand new Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie (the ninth of the franchise) is gearing up to premiere on Netflix. Filmed in Bulgaria last year, the movie is being described as direct sequel to Tobe Hooper’s 1974 original, the same way that David Gordon Green’s Halloween trilogy was for that franchise.

The news was announced by Netflix’s official Twitter account, which states that the film is “a new chapter in the iconic horror franchise that is set in the present day and returns to the roots of Tobe Hooper’s horror classic.”

Alice Krige, Elsie Fisher, Sarah Yarkin, Jacob Latimore, William Hope, Nell Hudson, and Moe Dunford star, with Mark Burnham playing the iconic role of Leatherface. David Blue Garcia (Tejano) directs with Fede Alvarez (Don’t Breathe) producing.

A release date has yet to be announced, but it will more than likely arrive this year. We wouldn’t be surprised if it arrives this October.
