The official Instagram account for Universal Monsters has now shared the red and yellow retro-style logo for Chris McKay‘s upcoming Dracula spin-off Renfield. The lettering has the same vibe as the original Universal Monster movie titles. The post of the behind-the-scenes shot of the Renfield slate also comes with the announcement that the movie has officially begun production.
Renfield will examine the relationship between Count Dracula, played by Nicolas Cage, and Renfield, with Nicolas Hoult (MadMax: Fury Road) playing the titular character who first appeared in Bram Stoker’s Dracula, in which he was a patient in the asylum overseen by Dr. John Seward, waiting for instructions from his “Master,” Dracula.
Other cast members that have already been announced include Awkwafina, Ben Schwartz, Adrian Martinez, and Shohreh Aghdashloo. Renfield is written by Ryan Ridley (“Rick and Morty”).
