Many “Supernatural” fans were heartbroken when the series came to an end after its 15-year run. Well, we’ve got good news, The CW has given the series order to “The Winchesters,” a prequel series that will center on Sam and Dean’s parents, John and Mary.
The series will explore their epic love story and how they fought not only to protect themselves and their family but the world as well, with Jenson Ackles’ Dean narrating spin-off series. There is no word yet who will play the roles of Mary and John.
“Supernatural’s” Robbie Thompson will write and executive produce with Ackles and his wife Danneel Ackles executive producing the pilot, which comes from their banner Chaos Machine Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios.
“The Winchesters” marks the third attempt at a “Supernatural” spinoff with previous series “Bloodlines” (2014) and “Wayward Sisters” (2017) failing to thrive.
