Back in 2017, director Coralie Fargeat made a name for herself with her feature film debut with Revenge. Now, she’s back in the director’s chair for the body horror The Substance, which begins production this May in Paris.
While plot details are sparse at the moment, Deadline is reporting that “Frageat’s explosive feminist take on body horror,” will star Demi Moore (Ghost) and Margaret Qualley (Once Upon A Time In Hollywood)
It has been said that the film is absolutely brutal with horrible body horror scenes that include bone protruding through the skin, body parts shredded by glass, and people’s eyes gouged out.
The Substance is produced by Universal Pictures and Working Title. Fargeat is producing the film alongside Working Title partners Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan.
We’ll keep you posted.
