A brutal new religious horror film, Sin Eater, is headed your way this March from Carmela Chimera (After Mask). The trailer is here and it’s nasty. Consider this a warning to those who suffer from dental phobia.

In the film, after suffering a horrible injury during an accident, a woman (Jessie Neurd) finds herself stranded in a remote town that is harboring a dark secret. As she tries to recuperate, she discovers a bizarre religious phenomenon happening around her. With no one to trust and her time running out, Christine realizes that she will have to fight her inner demons as well as the actual demons to survive.

Sin Eater is inspired by the real-life religious practice known as sin eating. A sin-eater is a person who performs a ritual in which they consume a meal to spiritually take on the sins of a deceased person. The food is believed to absorb the sins of a recently dead person, thus absolving the soul of the person. Sin-eaters, as a consequence, carry the sins of all the people whose sins they have consumed.

Horror icon Bill Moseley (House of 1000 Corpses) stars alongside Jessie Neurd, Danny Bohnen, Scotty Bohnen, Scott Moore, and Gretchen Ho.

Sin Eater premieres on DVD and On-Demand on March 15, 2022, from Indican Pictures.
