Back in 2017, writer-director Issa López made a name for herself with the film Tigers Are Not Afraid. Now, she’s back with her new film The Girl With a Thousand Names, which has just been acquired by New Line and will premiere exclusively on HBO Max, Deadline reports.
“The script tells the fantastically real story of a child from another world, trapped in our broken reality… without documents, in a detention center for unaccompanied minors and children separated from their families at the U.S. Border.” Deadline states.
Besides The Girl With a Thousand Names, López has several projects in the works including the films Three Sundays and an untilled werewolf western.
