The highly-anticipated action-thriller Boy Kills World has announced several new cast members, including Famke Janssen (X-MEN, Taken trilogy, pictured), Brett Gelman (“Stranger Things,” “Fleabag”), and Sharlto Copley (District Nine, “Russian Doll”), who will be portraying the film’s antagonists – the Van Der Koy family with Gelman starring as “Gideon” and Janssen as family matriarch “Hilda”.
In addition, Quinn Copeland and twins Cameron & Nicholas Crovetti (“Big Little Lies,” Goodnight Mommy) will play “Mina” and young “Boy” (respectively) and have joined the all-star cast that already includes Bill Skarsgård (IT: Chapter II) in the title role of “Boy,” martial arts master Yayan Ruhian (John Wick lll) as Boy’s mentor “Shaman,” Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day franchise) as “June 27,” Andrew Koji (Warrior) as “Basho,” and Isaiah Mustafa (IT: Chapter II) as “Benny.”
Based on an original idea by Mohr, “Boy Kills World is a one-of-a-kind action spectacle set in a dystopian fever dream reality. BOY is a deaf-mute with a vibrant imagination. When his family is murdered, BOY escapes to the jungle and is trained by a mysterious shaman to repress his childish imagination and become an instrument of death.”
German filmmaker Moritz Mohr is making his feature directorial debut with the film written by Arend Remmers (Sløborn) and Tyler Burton Smith (Kung Fury: The Movie). Sam Raimi and Zainab Azizi produce under the Raimi Productions banner, Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment also produces along with Simon Swart and Wayne Fitzjohn from Nthibah Pictures and Alex Lebovici of Hammerstone Studios. Stuart Manashil and Dan Kagan are also serving as producers. Reza Brojerdi of Ventaro Film and Andrew Childs are Executive Producing.
