Scream 5 and “Outsider” star Kyle Gallner and Johnny Berchtold (Gaslit, The Wilds) have now been cast in the lead roles of the thriller The Passenger, from Blumhouse and Epix, Deadline reports.

Directed by Carter Smith (The Ruins, Possession: A Love Story), the film follows Randolph Bradley (Berchtold) who is perfectly content fading into the background, but when his coworker Benson (Gallner) snaps and goes on a violent killing spree, he’s forced to face his fears and confront his troubled past to find a way to survive.

Gallner and Berchtold join previously announced cast member Liza Weil (The Cleaning Lady, How To Get Away With Murder) who plays the key role of “Miss Beard, Randall’s first-grade teacher who lost an eye after a classroom accident. She finds herself keeping Randall safe as she’s dragged into Benson’s destructive mission.”

The Passenger is executive produced by Jason Blum, Chris McCumber, Jeremy Gold for Blumhouse Television, and Lauren Downey (Blumhouse Television’s Into the DarkBingo Hell). Jack Stanley (“Black List”) penned the script.
