The Conjuring franchise is set to expand once again with The Nun 2 now confirmed by Warner Bros. During CinemaCon earlier tonight the sequel was teased in a sizzle reel presented by Warner Bros.
Today marks the first time any news has surfaced about the sequel to 2018’s movie about a demon nun, Valak, since 2019. With The Nun bringing in an impressive $365 million in worldwide box offices there was little doubt we’d see a sequel, prequel, or a spinoff.
Valek got its own movie after making an appearance in The Conjuring franchise. In The Nun directed by Corin Hardy, “A priest with a haunted past and a novice on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate the death of a young nun in Romania and confront a malevolent force in the form of a demonic nun.
There is no word yet if Bonnie Aarons, who played the character in both The Nun and The Conjuring, will be reprising the evil entity again. But we’ll keep you posted.
