IllFonic announced today the release date for the upcoming multiplayer game that will turn you and your friends into Ghostbusters, and one friend into a Ghost causing mayhem.
Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed can be played with friends, or bots for solo gameplay, where three players are Ghostbusters and one friend is a ghost that’s haunting a location causing all sorts of mischief by possessing objects, scaring people, sliming the Ghostbusters, summoning minions to fight, and shift around ghost rifts to confuse the Ghostbusters of your location. Meanwhile, the Ghostbusters use P.K.E. meters to sniff out ghosts, destroy rifts they find, use particle throwers to wrangle ghosts, and traps to capture them.
Explore the Firehouse, a familiar home base filled with new and recognizable characters alike, before departing on a mission with any combo of friends, random matchmaking, and/or AI bots online or offline in solo mode. Personalize your Ghostbuster’s equipment at the workbench and test out the changes with some target practice in the neighboring alley. Visit Ray’s Occult Books to enter the spectral realm and customize the Ghost’s loadout, skin, and various otherworldly options.
